[Rfsouthwest] Delivery route changes

PALS members -

 

PALS is making some adjustments to our Rockford hub Southwest delivery
route as of January 2, 2008. In order to be as cost-effective as
possible with fuel and staff costs, this route will now be run only on
Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Libraries who are normally on the
Southwest route, but receive 5 day per week delivery, will now receive
their delivery on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the Northwest route
driver. Because we sort all materials daily between routes/hubs, those
libraries probably won't even realize they are on two different routes,
except for different drivers for different days.  I have attached to
this email a copy of the new schedule for both routes.  Libraries whose
delivery days have changed with these new route configurations have also
been sent a separate print letter notifying the director of the change. 

 

We appreciate your understanding of these changes. PALS deliveries now
average 45,000 items per week, and we have to continually make
adjustments to meet your needs while remaining cost-effective.
