[Pgindexingsub] Agenda for next Tuesday's Indexing SubCommittee meeting

Evening all,
 
Lynn Seline and I spoke this afternoon about the agenda for our Indexing Subcommittee's meeting. The meeting is from 10am - 3 pm at the LaSalle Public Library. Here is her agenda:
 
After looking at the 150 pp+ report detailing the current QL catalog's  indexing by MARC field structure (interesting, but not user-friendly), we thought it would be easier to use OCLC's Bibliographic Formats & Standards as the basis for discussion. We could project MARC tags and go through them as a group. If you want to bring your wish lists and/or your own copy to follow along with, that'd be good. We'll have copies of the QL report which includes defaults available at the meeting, too. We'll leave other OPAC issues for the larger OPAC group.
 
 
 
So if you have a copy of the OCLC Bibliographic Formats & Standards (most tech services depts do), bring it with, if you want, to follow along with what we are projecting. Our goal is to end up with a list of all the tags for each format (monographics, serials, sound recordings, etc.), we want indexed. Then we can add anything that aren't already being indexed.
 
We will be offering rides from the Service Centers. Please let me know by Monday noon if you need a ride.
