[Pgindexingsub] 505 and Keyword Relevancy

Hi-
I think I'm missing something here. This question pertains to the OPAC
correct, EPS specifically? More so, the Advanced Search option or is
this when radio buttons are added to the search screen for Keyword,
Browse, Exact?
"General" as a search index is in the Staff Client-and serves as the
catch all. You know if you use this index option you'll get way more
than you need.
"Keyword, Browse and Exact" I've seen as a optional radio buttons in
iBistro. NOTE (from iBistro): doing an EXACT search on a "group" of
libraries will not produce the desired results you are looking for.
Browse is not designed to search across a 'group' of libraries. When
using Browse you choose either a single library or all libraries in the
database.
In the phraseology "One suggestion was made to remove 505 from the
general keyword and title search" is that remove from the General,
Keyword, and Title searching or from 'general keyword and title
searching'?
Maybe it's Monday and this isn't 'soaking' in. Sorry.
John

Subject: [Pgindexingsub] 505 and Keyword Relevancy

	Hi all,

There was a recent discussion about getting good phrase results
for simple phrases. One that was mentioned was "high church." The
results for a keyword and title search were identical. Out of a long
list of results, only two contained the phrase "high church" in any
obvious manner.

Sirsi explained to PALS that our system is currently configured
so that a Keyword Title seach will search the following fields:

	130
	240
	245
	246
	440
	505
	730
	740

One suggestion was made to remove 505 from the general keyword
and title search, and perhaps add "Table of Contents" to the "Search
Resource" menu as an advanced search option.

	Any thoughts on the matter?

	Thanks,

	Culley
